Managing hazards at work

Sound safety risk management involves undertaking risk assessment for operations in a manner that provides effective hazard management, meets legislated requirements and provides clear documented evidence of considered thought in managing work hazards. To achieve this risk management must incorporate the following elements:

  • consultation with operational workers
  • use of relevant methods to identify hazards
  • compliance with regulatory requirements
  • consideration of safety guidance material and common industry standards
  • maintenance of up to date valid risk management documents

Safety risk registers (a log of work hazards and their associated controls) and documented risk assessments (assessment of hazards associated with a particular operation) are the most common and effective methods used to comply with  risk management requirements.

Our Services – Psychosocial Risk Management

Franklyn Work Safety provide psychosocial risk management services that are underpinned by the Code of Practice – Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace and tailored to the unique needs of public sector and community service organisations. We’ve combined our Occupational Therapists’ expertise in understanding human behavior and our WHS Auditors’ knowledge of regulatory compliance to offer robust solutions that identify risks and facilitate tangible improvements in the workplace.

Our psychosocial risk management services:

  • Psychosocial Risk Assessments – we’ve developed a psychosocial risk assessment process that aligns with the Code of Practice – Psychosocial Hazards in the Workplace. The process identifies the key psychosocial risk factors at your workplace and then evaluates control implementation at strategic and operational levels. We aim to provide our clients with assurance about controls that are going well, and identify practical opportunities for improvement.
  • Psychosocial Risk Management Training – Tailored programs for managers, staff, and executives empower your people to recognize and address psychosocial risks effectively.
