An Operational Health and Safety Risk Register should include all of the significant health and safety risks of the business. Risks which have a hazard or WHS legal requirement as a cause, are a health and safety risk. Developing and maintaining the Operational Level Health and Safety Risk Register is an exercise that requires genuine input from operational level sources of information e.g. workers, injury reports, etc. For the controls to be evaluated as “adequate”, the risks need to be managed as prescribed by any applicable legal provision, or in a manner that would be considered reasonably practicable.
